There are many things to consider in order for us to achieve the real color of the lipstick that intends to give us.
1. First is the texture of our lips. We have to exfoliate our lips once a week to remove the dead skin cells or those dry skin. With that, the lipstick will be free to glide on without any bumps. (How to exfoliate the lips? You may use brown sugar with olive oil and rub the mixture on your lips. Or you may simply use a very soft bristled toothbrush and lightly scrub your wet lips. Do not overdo this. You may do this once a week.
2. Next, the lack of moisture in our lips. If our lips our dry, they will crack up. Therefore, any lipstick will not look good on them. After exfoliation, we need to put on a nice lip balm to coat and protect (just how we do with the rest of our body skin after scrubbing, we apply a lotion or any moisturizer).
Tip: You can use petroleum jelly to soften and moisturize.
3. The base color of the lips. Each of us have their lips' natural colors. Some are reddish, some are pinkish, others are pale pink, others are unidentifiable colors, haha! This natural color of our lips interfere with the intended color of your favorite lipstick. Then, that is the use of a lip primer specially when you do not have a lip liner.
*** If you have a matching lip liner to use with your lipstick, just do step 1, then apply your lip liner, and then your lipstick.*
I hope you guys learned something from this read. I will provide photos as soon as I have gotten a clear shot of my lips. As I do all the blogging stuffs here from photos to posting. :D
